The Temple of Aphrodite dominated Corinth geographically, economically, and morally. But Corinthian Jews were more interested in the Jerusalem Temple built on the ancient site where many Christians, Jews, and Muslims believe Abraham offered Isaac. Paul had another temple in mind when he taught the Corinthians.
