The Best of 2017

Our world went through a succession of violent storms in 2017—contentious political events, devastating natural disasters, and senseless loss of life. And while God’s people may have felt a bit shaken with the enemy’s short-term victories and temporary advances in the world, the trials sharpened our focus all the more on the hope of Jesus and the cross.

The most listened to messages of 2017 share a common theme that often surfaces when our world is hit with challenging circumstances—our need to trust God. To trust that He’s working behind the scenes according to His eternal plan. To trust that He can lead us to an unexplainable place of peace. And to trust that He’s always with us as we step forward in faith.

Our world needs Jesus. We’re thankful that God works through Telling the Truth to make Him known, and to encourage His people in times of uncertainty. And we’re thankful for our friends whose support makes that possible.

Shalom means peace. It defines a type of inner peace and sense of order on the inside, even when there is chaos around us.

Our lives are full of uncertainties that lead people to suffer with anxiety, chronic worry, and sometimes sheer panic.

In this message, Stuart Briscoe teaches from Philippians to show us where and how to find peace of mind.

Scripture: Philippians 3:20-4:9

One of the best known passages in the Bible is Psalm 23. It describes the relationship between a shepherd and His flock, in which He guides them through pastures, hills and dark valleys. In every case, the sheep are content because the shepherd is there, offering protection and comfort. We are the sheep in this story!

Jill teaches that no matter what is happening in our lives, good or bad, the only way we can find true contentment—and even joy—in every situation is by trusting in the Lord, our shepherd, who promises to never leave us.

Scripture: Psalm 23

When the storms of life come and the waves are crashing violently, do you find it difficult to trust that God is present and working?

Whether or not you can see Him, Jesus is walking on the water in the midst of your storm—and He’s asking you to step out in faith and trust Him.

In this message, Jill Briscoe uses the story of Peter walking on water to teach how you can learn to trust Jesus more passionately and confidently even in the midst of life’s most challenging storms.

Scripture: John 6:16-6:21

Having outlined the uncertain certainty of His return, Jesus ended His discourse with a series of stories illustrating the surprising and far-reaching ramifications of His teaching.

Scripture: Matthew 24:36-25:46
