Family Values

Stuart Briscoe

If family is important to us, why are we so casual about protecting it from the negative influences trying to break it down?

Our society is doing everything it can to water down the definition of family and to teach us to parent our kids so they are filled with self-esteem… but also selfishness. If we’re not careful, our values regarding marriage and child raising may reflect what we see around us instead of God’s guidelines.

Stuart’s series is a wake-up call for all believers to know and follow God’s clear directives about marriage and parenting. The reward? God promises when we conduct ourselves according to His values, our lives will be rich and full.

Messages From This Series:

The United States Supreme Court handed down the opinion that "Marriage is an institution in whose maintenance and purity the public is deeply interested for it is the foundation of the family and society without which there would be neither civilization nor progress." But times are changing!

Scripture: Proverbs 2

President Johnson speaking at Howard University in 1965 said: "The family is a cornerstones of our society. More than any other force, it shapes the attitudes, the hopes, the ambitions, and the values of the child. When the family collapses it is the children that are usually damaged. When it happens on a massive scale the community itself is crippled."

Scripture: Proverbs 22:6
