A night back in 1970 at the First Saintfield Presbyterian Church in Northern Ireland was a special night for me. I was 28 years old, and I was just passing through Saintfield when I saw people going into the church. I decided to go see what was going on. Stuart was preaching.
My brother had been killed just weeks before that, and all the questions I had [about it], you answered. At the conclusion of your message, you said, “If you believe what I just said, please stand to your feet.” I stood up, and at that second, my life was completely changed. Jesus came into my heart. I didn’t know what took place, but everything was new.
After a few weeks, I began to understand. Jesus changed everything. I was a dairy farmer living one mile outside of Saintfield, but I got rid of the farm and began a walk with our Lord. I pastored in Belfast, preached in different churches in the U.S., moved to Florida for four years, and then came back to Belfast and pastored there again. Now, my wife and I live in the south of Ireland, and we pastor a small fellowship of about 30 people. Our two sons are saved—one is living in New Mexico and pastors a church there, and the older one is living in Northern Ireland where he preaches for a church.
I just want to say thank you, Stuart, for your obedience to our Lord. My life and my family are the harvest you sowed in Saintfield all those years ago.
