Just in case you’re searching for something better…

What do you need most? What is it that you’re seeking?

I had a wonderful mother who always looked out for my siblings and me. When she’d send me off somewhere, she’d get out her purse, open it, and say, “Here you are, Jill. It’s ‘just in case’ money.”

Mother became known in our family for her purse and her “just in case” funds. Each time she offered it, she’d add an endearing explanation: “What if you get stuck and need fare for the bus?” Or “What if you have an accident and need to seek help?”

That was her heart behind the “just in case” money.

Of course, God’s heart for His children beats even stronger than a loving mother’s. And His purse of provision is never empty!

As He promises in His Word, He “will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

So… what is it that you need most? What is it that you’re searching for?

Is it security? Is it friendship? Is it joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness?

Whatever it is you’re longing for, God has already provided richly for your every need through His beloved Son. And in the “riches of his glory,” you can be certain that God will never fail to meet your needs and satisfy your searching.

So just in case you’re longing, and just in case you need a friend, your Heavenly Father has provided all the “just in case” you need—and so much more—in the precious person of Jesus Christ!
