Are you growing in your love for God?

The apostle Paul said in Philippians 3:10“I want to know Christ.” And he humbly goes on to say, in essence, “I haven’t fully attained it yet, but I want to, more and more.”

It reminds me of a poem the China missionary Isobel Kuhn quotes in her book Second-Mile People, and it begins like this:

Not merely in the words you say,
Not only in your deeds confessed,
But in the most unconscious way
Is Christ expressed.
Is it a beatific smile,
A holy light upon your brow?
Oh no, I felt His Presence while
You laughed just now.

Do people sense Jesus in your life? Paul talks about the “pleasing aroma of Christ” (2 Corinthians 2:15). Is what others sense in you and me the fragrant aroma of Jesus? One sure way we can be this fragrant aroma of Jesus is through letting the world witness our love for Him.

So let me ask… are you loving God? Are you growing in your love for Him so that you become so enamored with Him that everything else fades into its proper place?

It’s my prayer that the Holy Spirit will be at work in you, growing His precious fruit in your life. Then you’ll become a pleasing fragrance to others, helping them experience the abundant Life He promises!
