The Church

The Jews in Corinth were familiar with the temple built by Solomon, and the Greeks passed the Temple of Aphrodite every day.
Paul’s concern was to raise the Corinthians’ view of the church to new heights, and in so doing, to give each believer a higher view of their own role in the church’s life and ministry.
Paul was well aware that the Church of Jesus Christ is made up exclusively of sinners. In fact, he called himself the chief of sinners.
